Recording mothers on the marriage certificate

The Townswomen’s Guild’s petition to Her Majesty’s Government concerning the inclusion on the marriage certificate of the names and occupations of both the father and mother of the bride and groom.

In 2014, former Prime Minister David Cameron promised to ‘address the current inequality in marriage’ by including the names and occupations of mothers, as well as fathers, on marriage certificates. This has not happened

TG thinks we have waited long enough. Let's join together in this petition to make the Government hear us and get friends and family signing too.

Hard copies will be available from the Townies -on-line table at the AGM.
Please return completed sheets to TGHQ by 31st August 2018
