Monthly Meeting19th April 2022
We were delighted to welcome Andy Griffee he author of the Johnson and Wilde mysteries, Canal Pushers, River Rats and Oxford Blues, especially as his mother Kay Griffee is a member and was also present. He told us of his life starting in Journalism and finishing his career at the BBC as Controller of BBC's English Regions, and then as Editorial Director in overall charge of the redevelopment of London's Broadcasting House. It was only on his retirement that he was able to pursue his long held ambition to become a crime writer, incorporating his love of narrowboats and their canal systems and the possibilities they present as scenes of crime. We all enjoyed his visit and were pleased to take the opportunity to buy signed copies of his books.See the photographs in our Gallery.
