January 2019

December was a busy month for us. We were joined by High Voltage Singers for our Musical Christmas Party meeting when we all enjoyed singing Christmas songs and carols. The Townswomen's Guild National Carol Service held at Guildford Cathedral and the Berkshire Federation Carol Service held in Reading were attended by some of our members. We also had a very enjoyable outing to the Kew Musical Museum where firstly we saw a wonderful collection of self-playing musical instruments and learned about their history, and afterwards attended a concert – Christmas in New York - featuring the Wurlitzer organ and singers, with afternoon tea served in the interval. We finished our celebrations with a delicious Christmas lunch at the Moat House at the beginning of January, instead of our monthly meeting.

Our sub-groups continue to meet regularly and we have been pleased to arrange two extra meetings in committee members' homes to welcome our new members.
