Cross party support for the consumer’s right to choose paper bills and statements in the House of Commons
On 30th January, Keep Me Posted secured an Oral Ministerial Question during the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy session and have subsequently secured a Ministerial meeting to discuss their work. The discussion is available to be viewed

Keep Me Posted campaign to ensure that consumers are not penalised for choosing to receive paper copies of bills, statements and other important documents which are increasingly moving towards online distribution. TG's National Vice-Chairman, Jenny Thorne, has been involved with the group since 2014, following TG's mandate on this topic, and we are pleased to see that the issue is being brought to Ministers' attention and that there is cross-party support for protecting consumers who cannot or prefer not to access important documents online.
Keep Me posted have prepared a press release which has been distributed to all partner organisations to pass on to journalistic contacts. Marie Pooran came to Britain in the 1960s (from the Caribbean) and joined the Tottenham Evening Townswomen's Guild in 1971, a quintesentially British organisation which she has contributed fully to it - and continues to do so. At that time she was the only Asian member and actually for all of her 50 years has been one of few across many guilds and a rarity when attending the AGM and other events.

We were a cheerful group with some of our number clad in 80s ‘going out’ favourites of bright wigs, leg warmers and fingerless gloves plus oversized earrings and clusters of necklaces. We were asked to consider our 1980s style and ponder on some big questions of the time like Who shot J.R? Was Michael Fish right when he said there would be no storm? Could Alvin Stardust teach you how to cross the road, when seen wearing a glove with a ring on the outside of it? And was a bum bag the best way to keep your valuables safe?
