Wokingham Evening Townswomen’s Guild – FebruaryMarch/April/May 2018 report

We started the New Year with the wow factor and in February the aah factor as Tegan the Hard of Hearing Dog stole members hearts and demonstrated how she supports her deaf owner in her day to day activities.

We formed a new committee at our AGM in March we handed over a cheque for £600 to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance and are looking forward to being able to recruit new members during 2018 in order for our Guild to thrive.

The new charity we will be supporting during the next year is RP(Retinitis Pigmentosa) - Fighting Blindness.

The snow didn’t stop members and friends attending our Spring Quiz at the end of March and we all had a very good evening after which funds raised were divided between our new charity and our guild.

Our 66th birthday party in April went well and Serenade entertained us at the start of our meeting followed by a buffet supper for members and invited guests.
In May members were entertained by a group who gave members a demonstration of hand bells after which members rose to the occasion and had a go themselves.

The Townswomen organisation will be celebrating its 90th anniversary next year, ladies can contact us and join us to become part of this organisation by ringing Jill on 0118 989 2649 or emailing julia@treds.plus.com
