TG applauds Theresa May's commitment to tackling modern slavery

TG is delighted by the news that Theresa May has announced her intention to push forward the fight against Modern Slavery, having described it as "an evil trade that shatters victims' lives and traps them in a cycle of abuse", as well as "the greatest human rights issue of our time".

TG had already written to Mrs May regarding the two mandates passed at the AGM; following this news, a further letter has been sent congratulating her for this move and reaffirming TG's commitment to fighting against this despicable practice.

Mrs May had originally led the charge to ensuring the Modern Slavery Act would come to pass; it is heartening to see that, now she has the power to do so, she remains committed to providing the drive and resources necessary to ensure the powers provided by the Act are put to best use in stamping out slavery for good.

For TG's part, we will do all we can to continue pushing this campaign forward and ensuring these promises are not left forgotten or abandoned. We hope and would ask all of our members to support us in this effort.
