Date: Wednesday 8th March 2022
Time: 11.00am-4.00pm

Join us for coffee on arrival and a two-course lunch with tea and coffee in a venue with spectacular views over the Thames Estuary.

One of the speakers on the day will be from Lady McAdden (www.ladymcadden.org), a charity that provides advice, education and awareness to support the early detection of breast cancer, and which was formed in the 1970's after a fundraising appeal by TG's South East Essex Federation.

We shall also hear from Eve Bacon, who started as a Queen Victoria impersonator over a decade ago. She will explain why she took on the role and the research she had to undertake, as well as showing the costumes and accoutrements she has accumulated (www.livenhistory.co.uk).

Our third speaker will be confirmed soon.

The pavilion is in the Westcliff area of Southend and is a short walk from Westcliff Station, with regular trains from Fenchurch Street and interchanges at West Ham and Upminster. West Ham is one stop on the Jubilee Line from Stratford, which has even more transport links.

The restaurant has level access from the pavilion car park and a lift from the foyer for those being dropped off.

Southend has long been a holiday destination for Londoners and was recently awarded city status. There are many hotels - as well as attractions such as art galleries, a museum, and parks and gardens - and it makes a good base to explore the local area. Perfect for a short break.
