Our guild meets once a month to enjoy each other's company, develop friendships and to enjoy events and crafts, to try new things and to campaign on social issues. It gives us the opportunity to find support, encouragement, friendship and fun!
Our guild was formed in December 1980 and currently at the helm is our chair, Viv Gunn, supported by a hard working committee. We enjoy many activities throughout the year, bingo, darts, monthly lunch outings, quizzes, fish and chip and ploughman's lunches and music entertainment meetings. We organise an annual dinner, trips to shows, a fashion show, afternoon teas, a bazaar and auction, the latter to raise funds which we donate to our chosen yearly charity.
Monthly meetings are on the first Wednesday afternoon of the month from 2pm until 4.00pm at St. Laurence & All Saints Church Hall, Eastwoodbury Lane, Southend on Sea, Essex, SS2 6UH. (Number 9 bus passes the church hall).
We have plenty of time for friendship, camaraderie and fun plus a very interesting demonstration and/or talk from our guest speaker.
